Pasco County Transportation

Whether you are transporting goods domestically or internationally, Pasco County offers a variety of convenient and efficient distribution methods by land, sea, or air. Highways 19, 41, 301, Interstate 75, and the Suncoast Parkway all provide excellent north-south access. State Roads 52 and 54 provide east-west access. CSX provides rail service in Central and East Pasco. South of Pasco, Tampa International Airport (TIA) is conveniently located just 30 minutes from most areas of Pasco. Pasco County has the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport with a 5,067-foot runway in the eastern portion of the county. There are also several small, privately operated airports in the County. The Port of Tampa, 12th largest in the nation, can be accessed directly from the Suncoast Parkway (Toll589) and Interstate 75.

US 41 from Gowers Corner to CR 578 (County Line Rd.)

* This project will resurface the roadway
* Projected start date:  October 2008
* Projected cost:  $2.7 million
* Contractor:  Lane Construction Corp. Inc.

SR 52 (Meridian Ave.) from 21st St. to SR 533

* This project will resurface the roadway and add a multi-use path.
* Projected complete date:  Fall 2008
* Projected cost:  $1.4 million
* Contractor:  Lane Construction Corp. Inc.

Recently Completed Construction Projects

US 98 from Segnaro Dr. to the Pasco/Hernando County Line

* This project resurfaced the roadway.
* Completion date:  Late Summer 2008
* Cost:  $424,444
* Constrctor:  DAB Constructors, Inc.

I-75 from north of SR 52 to CR 577

* This project added guardrail
* Completion date:  July 2007
* Cost: $3.2 million
* Contractor:  Ajax Paving, Inc.

SR 52 form Moon Lake Rd. to the Suncoast Parkway

* This project widened SR 52 from a two-lane roadway to six-lane, divided roadway with sidewalks on both sides
* Competion date;  July 2007
* Cost:  $17 million
* Constractor:  DAB Cosntructors, Inc.

I-75 from I-275 to south of SR 56, I-75 from Hillsborough/Pasco County Line to Cypress Creek, & I-275 from N. of Bearss Ave. to S. of I-75/275.

* This project widened I-75 southboard from the vicinity of SR 56 to south of County Line Road to provide an additional lane to I-275 southbound.  This project also included resurfacting I-75 from County Line Road to the Cypress Creek Bridge.  A median barrier guardrail system was also installed on I-275 from US 41 to the I-75/I-275 interchange.

Transit - Scheduled Bus Service 

Public transportation services are provided by the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners through Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT).

Fixed-route transit buses operate throughout West Pasco, Dade City and Zephyrhills. This service is your key to mobility! Because of the large number of destinations, wide area of coverage, and extended hours of service, you can use it for all your daily travel needs, including:

  • Commuting back and forth to work
  • Making your medical appointments
  • Recreation
  • Shopping
  • And many other uses!
