Pasco County Business Recovery & Disaster Preparedness
Pasco County is made up of thousands of businesses both large and small. Should Pasco County be affected by a major disaster, the Pasco Economic Development Council (PEDC) is here to assist businesses with recovery, assistance programs, and information. The PEDC is the official liaison to connect Pasco County businesses with Federal, State, and local government agencies and programs. To ensure adequate support, the PEDC will coordinate with the five chambers of commerce to identify staff and alternates for the Emergency Operation Center and for the Business Disaster Recovery Center.
Preparation Can Make the Difference
Developing a written hurricane preparedness plan and training your employees to implement it, is critical. That is why we are happy to direct employers to the Florida Business Disaster Survival Kit.
This kit is divided into 4 sections to assist you in developing a plan for your business. To find out more, you can go online at http://www.fldisasterkit.com/ and download the information.
However, keep in mind that the Pasco County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) can provide assistance in developing both your hurricane procedures and staff training program. We encourage you to review the OEM website at http://www.pascoemergencymanagement.com/ which has some very useful and informative information.
In case of a disaster, it is vital for the PEDC to have records regarding the personnel authorized to be on your site during recovery operations as well as knowing in advance some special needs that your business may require. We ask that all Pasco County businesses complete a registration form each year with updated information by May 1.

Recovery Resources
If Pasco County is included in a disaster declaration, we will update this website as resources become available. The Florida Division of Emergency Management also has a website dedicated to disaster information: www.floridadisaster.org. Their website will be updated to provide the latest information on pending events of resources for those impacted.
It Is Up To You
Preparation will not protect your business and property from a disaster but it will help in your recovery both economically and efficiently. A quick business recovery after a disaster means we can maintain the stability and economic growth our community needs.
